Yes, all our products are made from vegetable-tanned leather. We never use chrome-tanned leather due to health and environmental concerns. Our products are dyed using only natural dyes that are safe for the skin and our environment, ensuring they interact harmoniously with both humans and nature without harm.

No, all leather is not naturally waterproof. It is a porous material, meaning it absorbs moisture and develops a rich patina over time. However, vegetable-tanned leather can be treated with natural waxes to make it water-resistant. This helps repel water while still allowing air exchange, preserving the leather’s breathability and longevity.

Vegetable-tanned leather is tanned using natural plant-based tannins, making it fully biodegradable, eco-friendly, and safe for skin contact. It ages beautifully, developing a rich patina over time and is known for its durability and strength.

Chrome-tanned leather, on the other hand, is processed using harsh chemicals, including chromium salts, which can be harmful to both human health and the environment. While it is faster and cheaper to produce, it does not develop a patina and often has a more uniform, synthetic appearance. We choose vegetable-tanned leather for its natural, sustainable qualities and the character it gains with use.

Our leather is sourced from Tuscany, Italy, a region renowned for its traditional vegetable tanning methods. It is tanned using natural tannins derived from plants and tree bark, ensuring an environmentally responsible process. We use oiled leather treated with tallow, a natural fat that enhances the leather’s durability, softness, and resistance to wear. The result is a high-quality, full-grain leather that ages beautifully over time, developing a unique patina with use.
